Dear Friends and Relatives,
Adhering to our exciting lifestyle (and our clothes in this heat), summer has been full of changes for us at Jocarta. Following my transition once again to Vegas with the Wayne Newton Show, and being without our beautiful Egyptian Arabians, life is "bitter sweet" to say the least. A brief May hospital stay with a minor heart problem (atrial fibrillation) was greatly healed by the sounds of music and stage applause, and a very special new "love" in my life...(a two-legged species this time, who goes by the name of "Mark Johnsen").., but more on him in the next issue.
Mom and I attended the June Egyptian Event in Kentucky where we went into partnership with clients, Nancy & David Korekach, on the last share available to the exotic young stallion..."The Source".., a colt imported "in utero" from Israel. Cadron Creek Arabians divided their interest in this colt into 20 shares, and sold every share to "clients only". Thank you Cadron Creek Arabians for allowing us to join you in this new adventure... A network of friends who capture dreams, and turn them into realities. What fun must lie ahead!
In case you are wondering why we are selling one stallion and buying an interest in another.., "well, our new stallion will never be at our facility"... which is not set up for visiting mares in for breeding, and all the additional time and work that is involved. It's just another way of enjoying the excitement & thrill of stallions when you don't have the individual time to manage their career. (Remember, mares are the profit making production factories. Stallion breedings are sometimes better when just purchased and then deducted, depending on your situation.) With me now working in Vegas, and mom is left to manage our mares, dogs and 7 acres (a job she does quite well) with the help of our tenant, and wonderful neighbors. and to whom I express my deepest thanks, but stallions don't belong here.
Excitement abounds as we await the arrival of our new foals due in Spring 2001. They are sired by the classic black stallion "Al Baraki", owned jointly by Hank and Phyllis Browning, and Cadron Creek Arabians. We are expecting our CMK liver chestnut mare, "Coral Treasure", to produce a classic-headed black foal, and our Straight Egyptian "Alidaar" daughter, "Faliha", to produce that beautiful floating elegance in motion for which Arabians are so noted. If any of you would be interested in finding out more about the tax benefits of horse ownership, or would like to take financial advantage of our "pre-birth" purchase plan on foals, give us a call for free information.
